Join the Burnage First Responders operational team and become part of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) #Team999!
What are we are looking for?
-
People who can commit to around 16 hours/month of responding
-
People who have a caring and compassionate disposition
-
People who are able to successfully complete the NWAS recruitment and training package
-
People who agree to attend a minimum number of training sessions
-
People who agree to attend a minimum number of fundraising activities
NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
If you think you have got what it takes we will provide you with a comprehensive initial NWAS community first responder (CFR) training programme where you will learn what to do in the event of attending an incident, and this is supported by regular CPD events held both in-house to NWAS and at external providers to make sure that you can make a difference to those who need it.
The application process includes completion of an NWAS application form, including the supplying of a minimum of two referees, completion of a DBS check (formerly CRB check (this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act), and an interview.

Burnage First Responder Team is predominantly based in Burnage, Manchester, and operating either at work or at home, we respond in the following areas:

Become A Support Member
Burnage First Responders support members provide the "back office" functions to the Team, but also includes HeartStart Instructors.
We are keen to hear from anyone who feels that they may have something to offer the Team other than operationally!
We are also looking to recruit and train people to deliver the British Heart Foundation HeartStart programme which is an initiative to provide free emergency life support training in the community.
